When was overtec founded?
Overtec is proud to be a family business that values both tradition and innovation. Nikolaus Hilscher led the company with vision and dedication for approximately 30 years before his son, Sebastian Hilscher, joined the firm. Together, father and son guided overtec's fortunes for over a decade, continuously developing and modernizing the company. In recent years, Nikolaus Hilscher has focused more on sales to long-standing customers, while Sebastian manages operations and shapes the next generation of company leadership.
Where does overtec manufacture?
Overtec's production facility is located in Attnang-Puchheim, Austria, and offers strategic advantages for the company. This central location allows overtec to efficiently serve the Austrian market while ensuring rapid accessibility to both Munich and Vienna. This enables overtec not only to optimally meet domestic demand but also to supply cross-border markets quickly and flexibly, contributing to the company's competitiveness and customer focus.
Is overtec a sustainable building material?
Overtec places great emphasis on sustainability and relies on innovative wood-cement panels for the production of parapets, balustrades, shaft elements, and other building products. These materials emit up to 67% less CO2 than conventional materials, significantly reducing the carbon footprint. By using these environmentally friendly alternatives, overtec underscores its commitment to climate protection and resource conservation. The EPD certificates issued by overtec can also be used for DGNB certification.
What is the thermal conductivity of the overtec CORD A2 plate?
The thermal conductivity of the overtec CORD A2 panel depends on its thickness. For a thickness of 24 mm, the thermal conductivity (λ) is 0.251 W/mK, and for a 40 mm thick panel, it is 0.287 W/mK. These values indicate how well the panel conducts heat. The thermal resistance (R), which indicates the insulating effect, is 0.096 m²K/W for a thickness of 24 mm and 0.139 m²K/W for a thickness of 40 mm. The U-value, which indicates the overall thermal insulation performance, is 10.46 W/m²K (24 mm) and 7.17 W/m²K (40 mm). These values demonstrate the thermal properties of the panel, which contribute to energy-efficient use.
